OOAK Owl Library Sculpture with working light
A hand-sculpted polymer clay sculpture that features a library shelf built with basswood. There are books that I made out of paper, and other paper decorations. There is also a lantern with a working light on the table. Entire piece is on a wood base.
Parts of the electric that lights the lantern are glued into place and cannot be moved without pulling pieces of it apart and damaging the wire. The light inside the lantern is glued in place. There is a wire that runs through the bookshelf into a compartment that you can access. Parts of the wire are taped down to a certain point. you shouldn't need to untape anything and I advise against it. There is a bit of wire that isn't taped down that connects to the button, which is also not glued down, followed by more wire that connects to the battery holder. I will include the battery needed, but it will not be in the battery holder. You will have to put the battery in the holder yourself. That's why the button and some of the wire aren't taped/glued down, so that it's easier for you to put the battery in. Once the battery is in, you can put the battery pack and wires back inside the compartment and you can feel free to tape any wires down or glue the button down. Do not use hot glue. I find masking tape to be fine to tape any wires down, as it can be easily painted over and easy to remove. Please avoid tugging hard on any wires. See photos for details and examples!
I will include an unused coin cell battery.
Sculpture measures 12.5" tall
Polymer clay can be pretty sturdy, but please treat this piece carefully because a good whack against something or dropping on the floor could potentially damage it!
For indoor use only.
